Books & Resources
Textbooks, teacher resources, educational materials and subscriptions used for teaching are generally deductible.
Technology & Equipment
Laptops, tablets, software and apps used for teaching, lesson planning and marking are generally deductible.
Clothing
Protective clothing and any compulsory uniforms are generally deductible. Ordinary clothing is not.
APST & Registrations
Teacher registration fees, working with children checks and professional association memberships are generally deductible.
Professional Development
PD days, conferences, courses and study directly related to your current teaching role.
Home Office
Marking, lesson planning and admin done at home — the ATO's fixed rate method (67c/hr) or actual cost method may apply.
Travel
Travel between schools or campuses, to excursions or to collect supplies (not home to school) is generally deductible.
Union Fees
Australian Education Union (AEU) or other teacher union fees are generally deductible.
